Cocktail Party - Charcoal Dress

Here's another ensemble for your parties this season. This is for a more sophisticated look. I started with a charcoal velvet tube dress that is figure flattering. I love the sheen of the velvet and that the dress is dark but not the traditional black.
Velvet Tube Dress
$98
Limited

In a Flash Earrings
$18
mark.

Sparkle is a must have for holiday ensembles so next I've added these lovely sparkling dangle earrings. Either pair would work but I'm going to go with the clear pair for my choice.

The double finger ring is a touch of trendiness to your outfit that you're sure to receive compliments on!
Disco Dome Ring
$20
mark.

Silver Mixed Media Bracelet
$35

On the opposite wrist from the double finger ring I would wear this fun mixed media bracelet completed with pearls and sparkle!

Black Sheer Dot Tights
$10
Target

Purple Platform Heels
$30
Target

I love adding a pop of color so to finish off this ensemble I'm adding these purple platform heels. I would add a pair of patterned tights with this to make the outfit a little more fun, but you can also go with a pair of black opaque tights to keep things simple.

Cocktail Party Under $100

Hey girls!

I've got another holiday cocktail ensemble for you! This one is for the ladies on a budget. I've put together a great look for under $100 that you'll love!

First we'll start with this very trendy dark purple peplum dress from Lulu's. Peplum is showing up everywhere these days and is very popular in Hollywood. The structure in the dress gives enough detail that you'll want to let it stand out.

Purple Peplum Dress
$40
Lulu"s

For the shoes I chose these cute floral black lace stilettos from Forever 21.
Floral Lace Stilettos
$25
Forever 21

We won't overwhelm  the dress with a lot of jewelry so I chose these black faceted jewel wing earrings with gold trim from mark. If you need to add a necklace, choose a long pendant or single charm necklace in gold. If you have long hair I would wear it back in a sleek ponytail.

Black and Gold Winging It Earrings
$16
mark.

Last I added this gold lame clutch from Forever 21. It finishes the ensemble off with sparkle!

Gold Lame Clutch
$13
Forever 21
All for only $94! Since we've finished under budget you may want to add some black opaque tights for colder evenings. Now you're ready for your party and you didn't break the bank! Have fun!

Holiday Party Style

Happy Holidays!
I love to style ensembles and with the holiday season kicking into gear this is the perfect time to put together some great party outfits (styled with beautiful jewelry of course)! For this look I wanted to build the ensembe around the jewelry so I'm starting with the Gray Pearls and Baubles Necklace and the Gray Pearl Dangle Earrings from Mozella Designs.

Mozella Designs, $45 Mozella Designs, $10
So now it's time for the dress. I'm really liking the snake print trend right now so I picked this sequin snake print dress from Lulu's.
Lulu's, $53, www.lulus.com
Then I'd give the dress a classic touch with a pop of color so I chose this bright blue rouched sleeve jacket from Express.
Express, $138, www.express.com
Normally since the dress is sequined I would pair the ensemble with a more understated shoe but this mini sequined high heel from Express is still nice and doesn't overwhelm the ensemble with flash.
Express, $118, www.express.com
Last but not least we need a simple clutch to top off the ensemble. I chose this black faux crocodile clutch that's big enough to get in the essentials.
Forever 21, $15, www.forever21.com
I'll post more holiday ensembles as the weekend goes on! Let me know what you think!

Another Trip to the Bead Show

It's about that time again! Bead show time! I'm getting ready this morning to go and hopefully find some really cool beads, charms, and other jewelry things to use for fall. I'm really looking out for bright, colorful things because I'm seeing that in fall fashion. I also would love to find cool paper beads. Anyway, I must finish getting ready. I'll be sure to share my finds when I return!

Zippers!

Hi all!

I'm so excited about these zipper bracelets! I've been wanting to do zipper jewelry for a long time now ans these were the perfect starting point. With the hardware trend continuing in fashion the zipper bracelets will fit in perfectly with your fall wardrobe. I particularly wanted to use brass zippers because of their golden tone.

Gold in jewelry, handbags, and accessories has really been taking over. They're like wearing little cuffs ans they look great when you wear a few (or a bunch) together. I mixed the black and navy bracelets and wore one with charms. That's the other part...they're completely customizable! I will be offering handstamped versions in the near future. I really like adding charms that give them a sweet but edgy and completely trendy look!

I currently have them available in black, navy, white, and dogwood (natural). The original bracelets are $12.50 each and $10 for two or more. The versions with charms are $15 and I will soon have a price for handstamped versions. The standard size is 7" but 6" and 9" can be available by request. I'm in love with these and hope you'll try them out.

On another note, I have added Zibbet.com to my selling venues so if anyone frequents Zibbet be sure to check out my shop soon!

Week 9 Challenge

We're moving right along in the challenge and I am so happy it's March! That means lots of spring things coming! I've gotten quite a few supplies in and will be working on new things in the coming days. This week I listed more of those cute little rose earrings in new colors. All very cute and springy! This week I named owl week!
Here are a few owls I made this week. I've got a couple more that will be available next week too.
These little pink cuties are some of my favorites! They are porcelain handpainted beads painted as sleeping owls. I love them they are feminine and a unique spring piece!

These owls are awake! Also handpainted porcelain beads, these owls are blue and speckled. They dangle on gold earwires and are super cute!

Next, I have a couple of antique brass owl necklaces. These will be great with any spring attire! I especially love the little baby owl!

Well, that's it for now! I'll be popping in early next week with more!

Week 8

Hello!

My weeks are getting crazier and crazier! I've been working on some custom orders this week along with school and other activities I continue to add to my schedule! During all the madness I was able to make a few new pieces that are available in my shop. First up was really an experiment for me. I had an idea to make a ring with a little message box charm and voila! Here it is!

It's a functional tiny little message box that you can hide a tiny little treasure in! I think it's so cute! Next, is a necklace I think is so hot for spring and summer! It's a multi-color web jasper necklace with the beads connected by silver eye pins. It's super cute and perfect for the girl who loves color! I think it's especially trendy for this season when bold and bright colors are in!

Last, I made a pretty pink rose necklace. A pink rose cabochon pendant hangs from a small gold round chain with two glass pearls for accent. It will be perfect for the woman that likes very feminine jewelry.

I also wanted to share with you all a bag I purchased a few weeks ago and just received today! It'll give a fellow Etsy seller a little free promotion! I ordered this light gray bow bag and I think it is fabulous! I am so excited about wearing around and think it will be a great spring accessory! It's a great size since I keep a lot of things in my bags and it's sturdy because it's made of upholstery fabric. They also make a mini bag, a diaper bag, and a bag for little girls! There are many different fabrics and I just love this shop! So the shop is called peace.love.n.polkadots. Go check them out!
So cute!
Anyway, I'm about to head out again and meet my friend for a night of wine, cheese, and pottery painting!

Week 7 Challenge

Hello!
It's been another crazy busy week but I managed to get a few things done. I made one suede fringe necklace which I don't have pictures of yet so I'll have those next week. I also got some of my spring post earrings done. I really love these cute little things!

They're all resin or acrylic flower cabochons and they are affixed to gold or silver posts for a nice touch to your spring wardrobe. I made a pair of the beige roses for myself and I love wearing them! More colors will be available soon so be on the lookout!
That's all for this week but check back next week because I'll be working on some new projects this weekend that I'm really excited about!

Have You Met mark. ?

mark.

Many of you probably don't know that I along with making jewelry to sell on Etsy am a mark. Representative as well. mark. which is the daughter company to Avon sells products ranging from beauty to fashion and supports causes like preventing teen dating violence. I joined mark. last year and have loved being a rep. and the opportunities that came along with it. At one point I was the Campus Sales Manager for The University of Memphis (my school) which was really fun. Later in the year last year when things really began taking off with Mozella Designs, mark. took a backseat, but I'm glad to say that I'm back and excited to show things on the blog that you can find on mark. as well. I'm so excited to get back into things that I ordered some new items with more on the way this week to share!

First up, I'm excited to show this super cute (faux) snakeskin clutch by Carlos Falchi, who is a major designer from Brazil. He designed a few items for mark. last summer and they were an absolute hit! When they announced this collaboration they announced that the top selling reps would win a trip to Rio! I didn't win but it was fun trying! Now I'm working on a trip to NYC.

I love this new bag. It is right on trend for the spring season. If you check any of the spring fashion mags out right now (I had a lazy afternoon of browsing them today) you'll see the snakeskin trend. I love this because I'm not sure that I want a full snakeskin blouse or dress but this little clutch is perfect. It's a great size in that you can fit all your essentials plus it has a detachable chain strap so you can wear it. It's called the Wild Things Clutch and this is a little sneak peek because it won't be available for another couple of weeks (Feb. 25).

Next I have the Infinity and Beyond Scarf which is a spring must have! I love infinity scarves because they totally fit my style! This one has gray and white stripes and is lightweight for the spring season. It is available now for $14. This is me modeling it in the picture below. I hate modeling things myself because I always scrutinize the pictures to death! lol. If you want to check out all the cool things mark. has take a look here.

Just wanted to share that with you today. I ordered more mark. things that I should be getting this week. I get so excited about it! I also made some purchases on Etsy last week that I'm going to share when they arrive so be on the lookout for those!

Week 5 and 6

Things got a little crazy last week and I wasn't able to get a post written. So, this week I'm bringing you new creations from last week and this week! We've been getting what I'm hoping is the last of the winter storms here in Memphis so I wanted to create some spring pieces for the upcoming season.
First up are a bright pair of earrings made from the Kazuri beads I got from the bead show I attended. Yellow round beads with white polka dots, yellow flying boat beads, and Swarovski round AB crystals make up this pretty pair.
Next, are another pair of earrings made with Kazuri beads. I've made these earrings before but these have a brighter look as I added small round Swarovski crystals.
The next is another Kazuri piece but I've had this bead for a while so I was glad to be able to use it! It's purple with small stripes of blue that cross the bead diagonally. The ring is made with a thick silver wire and can be made to fit your finger.
Last, I made a long 36 inch multi-color knotted pearl necklace. It's perfect for spring with its light pinks, lavenders, and creams.

So, those are the pieces! Hope you like! Look for them soon in the shop!

The Finds

So, as I shared earlier in the week or technically last week, I attended the Intergalatic Bead Show yesterday. It's always an interesting experience and there are always really great finds. I went with one of my best friends as she has a great eye and amazing style. We had a great time and I was able to get a few things I needed and a couple of wants. So now I'm going to share my finds with you.

The first items are moonstone cabochons in various sizes that I found toward the end of my visit. There was a great selection and I picked out a few to use in some upcoming jewelry pieces.

Next, I got lots of pearls! I love making pearl pieces so I knew I needed lots of pearls. These are shell pearls that are in tricolor strands. They're nice and light for the upcoming spring season.

From another seller I got some more lovely pearls. These are all freshwater pearls which are my absolute love of all pearls! The white and cream pearls are AAA grade and the colored are A grade. I have great plans for all of these beautiful pearls including some bridal pieces.
From that same seller I found some amazing semi precious beads. Some were pretty pricey so I couldn't get everything that caught my eye, but it could be a new source for supplies. I did get a few strands of small aquamarine beads which as I've stated before I really love and they're springy. I also got a strand of gorgeous moonstone cubes that are corner drilled. The photo doesn't do them justice! They're faceted and sparkly and lovely!

Last, which was actually my first stop at the show, I visted the Kazuri booth. I adore these beads! They are handmade by women in Nairobi, Kenya. The beads are made from African clay from Mount Kenya and each one is painted by hand. Buying these beads help support these women. The organization is a member of the Fair Trade Federation and pays the women fair wages. If you'd like more information on the Kazuri story visit this site.

It's always hard for me to pick a few beads from Kazuri because they are all so beautiful! But here are a few I chose this time. Hopefully I'll be getting some more sooner than later! I'll actually be using some of these beads on my challenge for this week. So look for the new piece at the end of the week!

And the winner is...
The winner of the $25 Mozella Designs shop credit giveaway on Stuff Parents Need is...Laura Wirth! Congrats Laura! Happy Shopping!

What I Did Today

I finally finished my sterling silver love necklace. I finished it off with a small round sterling silver chain with a spring clasp. It's cute and simple.

I know I said I wasn't going to go this route with hair jewelry, but I was intrigued. I think bridal pieces are so beautiful that I wanted to make some myself. I'm still going to venture into some more contemporary pieces but it's fun to start here. So, I decided I would try the beaded headband/tiaras first. Here's the first headband I did.

I used Almond and Ecru color glass pearls and wrapped them with silver wire around a silver headband for an elegant feel. This could be a bridal piece or for another formal occassion. The next piece I made can be a headband or tiara and is definitely more bridal or prom. I used various sizes of Ecru color glass pearls and various sizes of Swarovski AB crystals. I loved the way it came out!

Now I just need a model to fully showcase my new hair jewelry. Can I just take a moment here at the end of my post to show off a custom piece that I just finished this week for a customer? It came out so beautifully that I wanted to show it. It's a natural aquamarine and blue fire agate rosary with a scroll cross. I may be partial to aquamarine because it's my birthstone but I am in love with a natural aquamarine stone! I'm thinking of making myself a really nice natural aquamarine ring for my birthday.
